She giggled, biting her lip, “Well I have nothing to draw from, but it was pretty good for me.” She smirked, leaning in to kiss him once more, much more brief than the first one, “Yup, pretty good.” She added. “Well you aren’t so bad yourself. It would be unfortunate if you didn’t like this me very much. I’m glad.” She said, enjoying feeling his arms curled around her still. “So is this anything like Fiji or Tahiti for that matter?”
He smiled at her. “It was good for me too.” He kissed her back and licked his lip with a smile. ”Yeah you don’t have to worry about that. I like you enough, plus you’re hot so that helps too.” He kept his arms wrapped tight around her. “They’re a little warmer. You still have a little bit of breeze here. I’ll have to take you to both of them one day and you’ll see just how amazing they are. You have your whole life back now, to go wherever.”

She parted her lips slightly, running her tongue over his bottom lip as she deepened the kiss. The kiss felt familiar ans safe in a way she could not quite make sense of. Technically it was familiar, they had been married so certainly she had kissed him dozens of times before, but this was the first time she could recall. Their first kiss as far as she knew and all she could think about was how perfect his lips felt against hers. A few moments later, she pulled away softly, taking a breath as she looked over at him, a small smile on her lips.
He sighed and moved his tongue out to meet hers as she deepened the kiss. He wrapped his arms completely around her and couldn’t believe he was actually kissing her again. He pulled back when she did, his eyes still closed and looked at her with a smile, before his eyes drifted down to her lips again, and then looked back in her eyes. “That was possibly better than I even remember.” He sighed. “You’re really amazing, you know that? I loved who you were before but I like this you a lot too.”

She smiled, “I’m glad that I would do that for you. Maybe I can get to a place when I can help you feel normal again.” She said, looking up at him. With her heels off, she was significantly shorter than him again. It was at that moment she realized how close they were. She reached up and brushed her thumb over his cheek. “I’m glad you are too. That.. That’s good.” She stuttered, her breath catching in her throat for a moment. She hesitated for a second before leaning in to kiss him, letting her lips brush against his softly.
He smiled at her. “I wouldn’t hate that, you know. I mean, these last few months have been really rough and I would welcome feeling completely normal again, or as normal as I manage to get anyway.” He looked down at her and saw how close they were. She was possibly the only person that was full grown that was actually shorter than he was. He leaned into her thumb when it brushed against his cheek, and his eyes met hers and he wasn’t too sure he could speak then. He blinked then and he leaned in too and he kissed her back and moved his hand to the back of her neck, as he kissed her.

“That’s really hard to believe.” She said, laughing as she shook her head. “Sometimes you just need something to click for you and no matter how confusing everything else is, everything seems like it could actually be okay because that one thing makes sense.” She said, before shaking her head, “I’m rambling, I’m sorry. I just mean that it’s the little things that make things less overwhelming for me. That’s all.” She said, smiling at him when he brushed the hair off her face. “I just need things to be easy sometimes. That’s why I like spending time with you. Things are just easier when you’re around.”
He nodded. “Yeah I get that though. No, you’re not rambling. I get it completely. I mean, when I got overwhelmed after everything with Voldemort, I needed that sort of thing too. I needed to know that I had something that would be okay. I know that I didn’t lose my memory like you did but for me, it was still like everything had shifted in my life. Then, you came into my life and even though it took me months and months to be okay, you were still a lot of the time that person in my life who could give me some level of normal.” He smiled at her. “It’s easier when you’re around too.”

“This is true, that doesn’t mean I have any hesitation to put you completely in your place when you need it despite the fact that theoretically I’ve only known you a few weeks in my version of reality.” She said, looking back at him with a small smirk as she stepped into the water up to her ankles. When he mentioned something about the stars, she looked up, taking the sight in. “They’re beautiful.” She commented. “There’s something oddly comforting about the stars, that they are the same no matter where you are in the world, but at the same time they are different. They fall and make new ones, but it’s not a scary change. When you can’t remember anything, change is pretty scary, but this one isn’t.” She looked up at them before her eyes fell back to him. “They just make sense when nothing else does.” She added softly.
“Well, that’s possibly true. I’m not even as cocky as I used to be. You should be glad for that. I used to be quite obnoxious.” He looked up then. ”Yeah they change their position or how you perceive them, but their the same too. It’s always been a comfort to me, if I’m honest.” He looked at her then with a smile. “Things that make sense when nothing else does is quite the comfort, really. It’s like everything else is confusing but there’s that one thing or person you can look at and as long as they’re there, even when everything is different, it seems a lot less painful than it once did, you know.” He brushed her hair off her face then and smiled at her before looking back up again. “That’s what makes things easier, or something I suppose.”

She rolled her eyes, shaking her head, “Completely ridiculous. People don’t generally enjoy people who speak so highly of themselves, Harry.” She pointed out, sliding out of the booth when they finished their meal. “Good. They deserve to be safe and normal despite how not normal their parents are. They should be allowed to be normal.” She said, nodding firmly as they walked out of the restaurant and towards the beach. She stepped out of her heels, holding them in one hand as she set foot on the beach. A smile spread across her face immediately as she felt the sand. She closed her eyes, letting the feeling sink in for a moment. She wasn’t used to this. Being able to relax and enjoy something.
He looked at her and smirked with an arrogant look. “But see, you do enjoy spending time with me, despite the fact that I can be arrogant.” He slid out of the booth then and followed her out to the beach. He took off his shoes then too and smiled at her and looked up at the sky. “It’s a nice night. It’s not even cold out here. You can see all the stars and the moon.” He turned to her with a smile as he looked out at the stars. “You don’t remember this but I’ve always liked looking up at the stars. It’s always been just incredibly relaxing for me.”

She smiled, glad she was doing something right because most of the time she didn’t feel like she was. “Well I’m glad I can keep you on the ground. Speaking of which, the constantly throwing around the fact that you are the chosen one isn’t as hot as you think it is. Maybe for your groupies, but I think I might be immune to it.” She smirked, teasing him a little as she took the last bite of her Mac and Cheese. “Well, I’m glad it’s real. I think I would cry if it was not.” She wrinkled her nose. “Exactly. I am worried about them being in danger, but I trust between the two of us we can keep them safe.” She said, taking another sip of her drink. “How about a walk on the beach?” she asked.
He looked at her and gave her a look. “You’re wrong. It’s totally hot. You just don’t like to admit it. Besides, you don’t remember how perfect it is that I’m the chosen one, so I hardly think that’s an informed opinion. But thank you for your input on the matter.” He laughed. He was amused that she still was not remotely impressed by it. One day, everyone would see how good it is that he was the chosen one. He was a legend and always would be. ”It’s definitely real. We really are married, even if you don’t remember it. We definitely can keep them safe. I keep strong charms around the house as it is, after everything.” He smiled at her. “I think that a walk on the beach sounds really great actually.”

“I think normal is impossible when you are a wizard or a witch. It’s always going to be a part of this. It’s impossible not to feel like something is going to happen at any moment. Something always does, whether it’s life threatening or not is debatable sometimes, but it’s difficult to convince myself I don’t have to go back there sometimes. I think if I fall asleep I will wake up in Lestrange mansion and this whole Paris apartment marriage to Harry Potter thing is a complete dream.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I like magic, don’t get me wrong. I just think things would be simpler without all of this in my life. If I was just a normal doctor without any notable qualities.”
“This is why you’re amazing, you know. You reassure me. I mean, I think so much of the time that nothing will ever be okay but you help me see that it’s normal that I think like that. And no, you don’t ever have to go back there. It’s real. It isn’t a dream. You are Mrs. Harry Potter, wife of the chosen one and while I’m willing to be patient and leave it up to you if that’s what you want, I am more than willing to let you have all of that again, even with your memory what it is.” He nodded. “I get that. I think it might be easier too, you know raise children whose worries are normal and not if some want to be evil wizard is going to kidnap or kill them.”

“Sleep is hard with all of that going on. I’m bad at the whole sleeping thing when I’m stressed out. Especially when I have access to pep-up potion then things just get nightmarish.” She said, taking another bite of her food. “Oh yes, there’s lots of drama involved with all of that. I would really like for all of that to go away some day, but I doubt that is ever will. I would love to just be normal one day, but I suppose that’s a problem when you aren’t normal.” She shrugged, “Do you ever wish we could just be normal humans? A Doctor and a 5-0? I feel like life would be so much easier without the magic sometimes.” She sighed wistfully, trying not to get to wrapped up in the fallacy of ‘normal’.
“Oh I’m sure. Being asleep is getting less scary for me than it once was. Trying having the worst dark lord of all time with access to your brain all the time. Now that’s frightening.” He nodded. “Being normal has always been hard for me. I’ve gotten more used to the parenting thing but I don’t know normal really. I mean, like I said, I was orphaned when I was a year old, and sent to live with the most obnoxious family. They made me live in a cupboard under the stairs, and then I found out about being a wizard right when I started Hogwarts. Then, all the Voldemort stuff happened and that went on until a year ago. I don’t really know normal.” He shrugged. “I don’t know. I mean, maybe that would be nice too. I like magic, though. I mean, I’ve used it for so long now that I almost don’t remember how not to use it.”

“I’m sure you weren’t.” She smirked, watching him get a little flustered and finding it cute. “It’s just a constant feeling that the worst is get to come. I don’t know how to explain it. I don’t really get anything concrete or anything to speak of really. It’s sort of complicated, but it’s just a feeling that something is around the corner.” She said, shaking her head and trying to get rid of the feeling. She didn’t want to think about that right now. “Relaxing is good. I like relaxing.”
He nodded. “Yeah I understand that. I’ve actually gotten better about it. After the war, I dealt with a lot but it’s been a year now and sometimes I actually get a few hours of sleep, and I’ve stopped hallucinating for the most part, so that’s a plus for sure.” He still would never understand how she was actually here. He had seen her, he had carried her. He knew that he probably should stop wondering but he didn’t know how. He honestly had no clue how to do it. “Yeah it is. it’s nice to just get away from drama.”
